In their second match of the season, the Swiss senior women faced Heidelberger Ruderklub (HRK), who are currently top of the table and won the 2024 German Championship exactly one week ago. The team led by coaches Sebastien Dupoux, Billy Valentine, Ali Nouri, and Carole Caspari were on a par with their German opponents for a long time. In the end, however, the more experienced team from Heidelberg managed to gain the upper hand and ultimately leave the pitch with a 26:0 victory. Despite dominating in rucks and scrums and having had numerous chances to score tries, the young Swiss team was unable to prevail against their opponents' excellent defense.

The integration of six new players, three of whom are under the age of 20, is a success in the long-term development of women's rugby and provides a promising outlook for the next matches.

The match against HRK was also the last appearance in the red national jersey of former captain Sabrina Walti, who is a key figure in Swiss rugby. With almost 20 international caps to her name, she is a role model in commitment and leadership and leaves behind a legacy that has inspired her teammates.
